Getting the right video testimonial

June 27, 2011 | Author: | Posted in Advertising

One of the most important things you can have in your business is the use of testimonials. It brings proof to many people that what you have is legit. Usually though, there is a wrong way to do it and a right way to do it. I’m sure you’ve come across some of the many testimonials that say, “With this system, I made $20,000 dollars in one day” or “I got ten new customers in 1 hour” or “I have a list of 10,000 in only 1 month”.

Now, that’s a bit to the extreme and if I have to say so myself, cheesy. I really hope that you don’t fall for those, because that doesn’t really prove a thing. The people saying that stuff ought to be able to prove the statement they are making, if they can’t, I’m glad I’m not that person, that is, if they get caught.

Believe me, stuff like this happens and most the time it’s not true. There have been those who’ve been asked to give a testimonial and were given the exact words that “they” (company asking) wanted them to write. That is ridiculous! Yes, you want good testimonials but you don’t go to the extreme.

The best way to get testimonials is to ask your client. If they say no, that’s fine, just move on. Most the time though, people are more than willing to give a testimonial for those whom they are happy with. It’s common when someone gets something they really like that they’ll rant and rave about it and tell everyone. It can be scary, but you’ll get the hang of it.

A good way to get a testimonial is to ask your clients to write down how they felt about the product you provided them in words of their own. Also don’t forget to get a picture from them so that when others read their testimonial they will see the type of people you work with.

Although getting written testimonials can be good, they won’t do nearly as good as having a video testimonial. Having videos is a great tool. This will attract thousands of potential customers because they are actually hearing the people say exactly how they feel about the product. I don’t think you’ll get better than that.
