Getting Excellent Testimonials is More Than Possible

Testimonials can have a powerful affect on your target audience and help you convert more of them into customers. Very few people want to be out front, and that is why there is security in numbers which is what testimonials are all about. It is not legal to ask for a testimonial, so very often a vendor has to just wait for somebody to send one in. What we want to do is help you find ways to get your campaign, with testimonials, off the ground.

There are many things that can have an adverse impact on your visitors, and trash talk toward other businesses usually is not a good idea. Bashing your competitors yourself won’t do any good because people will only see that as a marketing stunt, which will probably look fake. Really, the bottom line is you can alienate some of your own customers; therefore, it is not worth the risk.

You can do an honest comparison without being disrespectful, and then people will make up their own minds. This is why you should have your customers compare you with your competitors, so that you can use this feedback as a testimonial. If you never ask people what they think, then you can never expect them to comment on anything. This is all about using other pages that typically just have bare information on them. That is the usual scenario, and that really is a missed opportunity. Simply ask people how they like your site and to let you know about it. Things like this are all part of optimizing the space on your site.

Before you contact anyone for their permission, be sure you have your approach figured out. Everyone has a story to tell, and it is also true that almost everyone more or less likes telling others about their story. It is using the testimonial word that often tends to scare people away from talking.

If you think about it a little, you will see there are many ways you can talk to people and obtain cooperation. Also, when you do get testimonials, or stories, then call them ‘successful stories’ on your site rather than testimonials.

Just remember that every testimonial that you list out on your site should be genuine, authentic and help your prospects take action.
